In October '16 I attended the Hallamshire Hospital for the surgical removal of a basal carcinoma and a skin graft. I was filled with trepidation. Mr Morritt entered and immediately put me at ease, explaining the procedure I was about to undergo and the likely duration of it. Sensitively, he drew some personal information out of me appearing genuinely interested in my responses and drawing on them occasionally during the surgery and on my two follow-up appointments. He always smiles when engaging with a patient, unless he has dire news to impart, treats the patient as an intelligent human being with a personality and gives the impression that he is happy to be generous with his time. Above all, he inspires one with confidence in his knowledge and skills. I have no suggestions about how he could improve on 'excellence'. Mr Andrew Morritt is a prime example of the new breed of medic who relates well both to patients and to members of his medical team. Jennifer Mccracken
