It’s been 5 months since my FES surgery, I had been struggling with breathing through my nose for 5 years, I had lost my sense of smell and frequently suffered from sinus infections. I met Ali after a follow up appointment for a procedure had on the NHS, after discussing the issues I had Ali advised me that I need FES surgery and he would be happy to do it via the NHS, however due to the waiting list ect… I decided to speed things up and have it done privately. After I decided to go ahead, Ali spent time going through everything in detail and that his secretary would be in contact. I must say I have seen my fair share of doctors and consultants over the last 5/6 years and I must say Ali made me feel completely comfortable and confident that I had actually found someone who knows what I need and how to do it. Once booked in my surgery date was set and on the 14 July I visited the Manor hospital In Oxford. The surgery went smoothly as Ali said, I came round and started the recovery. Ali explained all went well and now I need to do my bit and keep up the my new daily routine, Sinus rising and use of nasal drops are vital in ensuring my sinuses stay in the best possible shape. So I am here today 5 months on, my sense of smell has returned and now on a different level! Some days I can smell the coffee in Brazil!, I am still allergic to something that I’ll never find out what it is but I now able to get back in the gym. If you’re looking for a surgeon and it’s in Ali Qureishi field then don’t hesitate, I wish I had met him sooner.
