I was very nervous especially as i am relatively young to have a cataract operation and as a mum to a child with special needs.. I need to be able to drive and see the world around me! I started to lose my sight in my left eye which was really scary as i jave always been very short sighted and relied on glasses or contact lenses to be able to see but now even that didnt correct them. Firstly i was mis diagnosed at another hospital so i insisted on being seen at Kingston by this specific doctor and i got my wish! As i have a congenital spinal condition, the hardest part for me was getting my neck comfortable enough for me to be able to lie back without going dizzy fot the surgery! But the team wrre great and put several packs behind my head and made sure i felt well enough to have the surgery. Doctor was very efficient and lovely despite fact i was youngest so last for my op and he must have been tired! But it went with no complications. I recovered quickly and beautifully and now i have perfect vision out of that eye! I am no longer able to wear glasses so have to rely on a contact lens in my right eye to even out my vision..This os ok for now but i cant always wear a lens which then becomes problamatic so if i need surgery on that eye too at some point, i would definetely ask for Doctor k again! Thank you so much for saving my vision!
