I was operated on the 24th August 2017 by Mr Thomas. I had a severe prolapse with huge bulge which was compressing onto my L5/S1 region, and I also had paralysis in my lower left foot. It was a very complicated procedure and the first thing I done whilst in the recovery room was to wiggle my left feet and the feeling had come back. I am now getting nerve sensations going through my left leg but as he described to me the day after, I will experience similar as to the removing of the prolapse and also the nerves having to work back into place. Mr Thomas had done a brilliant job on the stitches, and from the outside you would never have guessed that I had undergone major spinal surgery. This for me was life changing surgery, and I will have to make a lot of sacrifices along the long road to recovery. He had showed the utmost professionalism pre and post operation, and I am due to visit him anytime soon.
