My husband was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Dr. Botha did his Gastrectomy. He removed his stomach through a keyhole. During the removal he lodged some cancer cells at the site of keyhole ( because of his carelessness).
My husband got a bad infection. After that he got discharged from hospital but within a few days he had a high temperature and his body was shivering I called 999. They arrived quickly and said he has got infection and said you did the right thing at time otherwise the infection could have been worse and could go in his blood ( sepsis). He got admitted in a local hospital again. He got a bit better and came home. After a few months cancer started at the same site from where he took the stomach out ( infection site). Now his chemo is going on. It’s been 9 months and still hoping for him to get better.
I’ll never suggest anyone to remove their stomach by a careless surgeon like Mr. Botha.
