Having a long history of Spinal and Cervical stenosis and being offered surgery over the years it was not until my appointment with Mr Sharma on the 21/11/23 and my symptoms being examined and explained that l found l knew l could confidently accept the surgery l needed.Mr Sharma immediately put me at ease and his calm and confident approach was both comforting and reassuring. l had an MRI and at my return visit it was agreed that lumbar decompression was the way forward but l was also referred very promptly to Mr V Siva at St. Georges Hospital for examination and it was subsequently decided the lumbar decompression surgery should be addressed first followed up with a review of the cervical degeneration at a later date. l had the lumbar decompression surgery on 26/02/24 at which time Mr Sharma visited and explained his findings and a follow up appointment was arranged for 4/04/24. During my recuperation l also received a telephone call from Mr Sharma asking about my progress and l was delighted to report a substantial improvement and again l was very appreciative about his level of genuine interest and concern. At my follow my up appointment on 4/04/24 and details of the surgery explained l was delighted to report l am free of the severe leg pains and know l am making excellent progress .l reported l am now sleeping through the night without discomfort ,and know l can look forward to walk free of the debilitating symptoms and fatigue. l cannot speak more highly of Mr Sharma, it has been because he gave me the confidence to have the necessary surgery and his support and expertise, that l am able to move forward and enjoy my future. l intend to periodically write to Mr Sharma to let him know of my ongoing progress.
