Miss O’Ceallaigh changed my life. Through a series of circumstances that were specific to my situation, I had to remortgage my house to self-fund my surgery (bilateral mastectomy with immediate TUG reconstruction), and it was the best investment I ever made. I would do it again in an instant. From my very first meeting with her, Miss O’Ceallaigh immediately put me at ease and filled me with confidence about her abilities. I’m now 4.5 months post op, and throughout the whole process she has never wavered in being warm, knowledgeable, compassionate (but not sentimental), supportive and practical. I felt so well prepared for the surgery because she had been so thorough with the information she shared with me. My reconstructive result looks absolutely spectacular, and her aftercare has gone above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. I was in hospital for 6 days after surgery, and she visited me every single day, even when she had full-day shifts and evening clinics to complete. Since I’ve been discharged, she has gone out of her way to make sure I’m as comfortable and have as good a result as possible, even for things I would have been prepared to live with.
