I met Miss Rachel Rolph ,Breast Fellow at Royal Marsden Chelsea when I went there for a mammogram. The mammogram and a thorough examination by Miss Rolph led to an ultrasound and multiple breast biopsy procedure. All this happened in a space of 3 hours at Royal Marsden! When I met Miss Rolph again for the second time in a day, Miss Rolph calmly and thoroughly explained the potential bad news and arranged MRI and genetic test. Thanks to her calm and reassuring manner, I was able to focus and face the difficult news. I find this particularly comforting in current Covid environment where I had to face this extremely challenging news on my own without the presence of my family. And because of her prompt action, the MRI was arranged next day and I was diagnosed with breast cancer within a week. Since then, I had a surgery within a month from the formal diagnosis. Each time when I saw Miss Rolph whether it was for pre-op treatment options or to treat my post operation issues, her calm, reassuring manner was a comfort, and helped me to stay positive ,and enabled me to cope with such challenging situation. I never felt rushed during all my consultations with Miss Rolph and she responded to all my questions with the same reassuring confidence and thoughtfulness. I cannot thank Miss Rolph enough for all her support. And I know Miss Rolph will help and support those who face the similar challenges as I did.
