I was referred through to the breast clinic through my gp following an ongoing issue that they were unable to help with after 8 months of trial. My first visit I was absolutely terrified with the notion that this issue had become much more serious and was like a heavy weight on my chest. Rachel Rolph was immediately so kind and attentive in putting my worries to rest. She was reassuring of my concerns and actually listened to my concerns, completely validating the way I'd been feeling and I hadn't realise how much this had been troubling me until somebody looked at me and SAW me as a PERSON instead of a patient. I was given very clear advice, u was talked through my prescription and what it was actually going to do for me and my body. I was given an accurate and honest reflection of my opinion, and how following the treatment would help to benefit the course I was on. This wonderful woman even got me to quit smoking after nearly a decade! Even during the follow up I was greeted like an old friend, genuinely remembering snippets about myself and condition and was nothing short of elated when I expressed how much better I was doing. Despite the surface issue being cleared up she made sure to refer me for an ultrasound so she could ensure she was letting me go with a clear conscience, plus a healthy mind and body. I have genuinely never had such a positive experience with an individual at a hospital, and whilst in such a scary and nerve wracking point in my life Rachel Rolph was like a breath of fresh air. I felt valued, visible, and respected through her kind manner and professionalism. But importantly I felt as though my health and wellbeing was genuinely the most important thing to Rachel in that consultation room. Whilst I hope to never go through the same condition again, if I do, I know as long as Rachel Rolph is at the Princess Anne Hospital it will be a much more positive experience.
