On 10th September 2020 my GP referred me for an urgent appointment which did not happen within 2 weeks as promised. It took a month presumably because of COVID related delays. All understandable. As I was getting anxious I rang the hospital booking team a number of times and they were as helpful as they could be. . Miss Panna Patel telephoned me on 6th October for a phone consultation and arranged an examination in Furness General at 9.35 am on 7th October. She and her team were fantastic. Supportive of myself and my wife. Good communicators, reassuring, knowledgeable, very courteous and warm. .I was given a very clear verbal and written assessment of my condition Miss Patel then speedily arranged a blood test, a Covid test and Colorectal examination scheduled for 7.30am on Monday 12th October. Further scans are planned. We were very impressed with the efficiency and care of Miss Patel which included 2 personal phone calls and immediate follow through detailed letters. Its a scary time for us but I am sure Miss Patel and her team are the experts to help. Brilliant skill and service. Thank you Miss Patel, her team and the NHS.
