My father had terminal cancer and had expressed to us that he did not wish to know the diagnosis he just wished to be treated for the symptoms and made as comfortable as possible. We as a family took this seriously and as English wasn’t his first language we told him what was necessary and respected his wishes. Dr Harris ignored his request and shouted “yOU HAVE CANCER” in his face as he was hard of hearing. This was very distressing for him and did not benefit him knowing this information. We were all traumatised by this and felt she was unsympathetic. In terms of treatment and her skills she is a very experienced Doctor and her bedside manner is what we had a problem with.
