I would highly recommend Dr Katherine McCarthy. She was amazing and I received the best possible treatment. Dr Katherine was professional and kind from our very first meeting. I went to see Dr Katherine, as a private patient at her clinic in Bristol, as I wanted to have three anal skin tags removed. These skin tags have bothered me for many years, they itch and it’s very difficult to get the area completely clean. I was also worried that I would catch them and they would bleed. The removal of anal skin tags is no longer available on the NHS as it is deemed cosmetic, why I don’t know, it’s far from cosmetic in my eyes. I met with Dr Katherine who explained the procedure in great detail and gave me different options, which I really appreciated. She was very knowledgeable, kind, considerate and very helpful. Despite the very personal and intermit area, she made me feel very comfortable. She is a great advocate for sensitive personal issues. I was given a cooling off period of a week, which is very useful and demonstrates that no pressure at any time is put upon the patient to have any procedure carried out. The procedure itself was quick and painless. She spoke to me throughout the procedure and talked me through it, I felt no pain and no discomfort, you can tell she is an expert. The procedure was over very quickly. Afterwards Dr Katherine sent me home with a good after care plan, which painkillers to take and explained just what to expect the following week. Due to her good quality work, I have needed very little pain relief. I have had no trouble sleeping because of the pain. Dr Katherine then phoned me the day after the procedure to check I was doing ok, which I really appreciated. You don’t get that on the NHS! It was such a kind thing to do and it shows the top-class level of care Dr Katherine gives to all her patients. I have a follow up appointment six weeks later, which also shows excellent quality after care. I would highly recommend Dr Katherine. I just wish I had found her years ago. Thank you very much Katherine, you have changed my life for the better.
