I had a horrendous appointment with this woman recently. She Downgraded my Endometriosis by two stages, said ‘you can’t be in that much pain’ when I’m on two lots of morphine every day and they don’t even help. Endo was found all over my cervix, near my ovaries and uterus during the diagnostic lap alone. Said my endo was ‘very very minor, no more than stage 1’, almost laughed in disbelief at me when I was describing my pain, even though the surgeon said it was Stage 3, and this lady had only seen a couple of the surgery photos. The surgery had only looked in one area and I have been saying I suspect there is endo around my bowels etc, she said there is nothing wrong with me or my organs. She said’I don’t see how you can be in that much pain, endo is not causing this’ I asked what is causing it then? Her response, ‘Oh it’s your Endo but it’s not causing you that much pain, you are probably very sensitive to pain’. How can she know it is very minor if I haven’t had the full surgery yet to look at the other affected areas? How does she not know it’s grown back? Suggested I might just be ‘sensitive to pain’, even after I told her that working full time was so painful it took me to the brink of suicidal thoughts. Told me then she suggests I go on medication to put me into the menopause (I’m 25!). If there’s nothing wrong with me then why put me through such a drastic thing? Didn’t explain ANYTHING about the medication, still don’t know if it is a pill or injection, absolutely nothing. Nothing about side effects or how it would help me. Then she suggested I do yoga even though I said even walking hurts. She really pushed the Yoga thing which after all that she had said sounded so condescending. During the examination that I didn’t even know was going to happen (she just said ‘okay I’ll examine you now in the other room’, I had to presume what was going on because she wasn’t about to tell me) she was very rough and kept pulling the privacy sheet down exposing me to the other nurse which was embarrassing, poked my already sore tummy and asked me if I’ve gained weight recently, then pressed incredibly hard down onto my stomach with no explanation of what was going on. I was visibly wincing in pain yet I still had no walkthrough of what was happening or what she was looking for. I went home and cried and cried for days. I didn’t even make it to the hospital entrance before I was in tears. I feel so invalidated. One of the worst appointments I’ve ever had. Thankfully I know enough about Endo to know it is more serious than she thinks. She needs to learn more about the condition and learn things like Stages have no correlation to pain level for starters, so even if I did have Stage 1 like she thinks, she was wrong to say I couldn’t be in pain because of the low Stage, I thought that was a well known thing. This lady needs to educate herself and be way more compassionate towards patients.

I have been over 4 years going backwards and forwards to different consultants and doctors. Each time being told it's a different thing that's wrong with me or that there is nothing wrong at all. Finally I found somebody that listened and more importantly took action . Dr Sanaullah listened carefully to everything I said and cared about my problems. After losing faith in the medical professionals and pretty much having nowhere to turn for help , I finally feel that I may be getting somewhere . I would strongly recommend Dr Sanaullah to anybody A big thank you

She's extremely rude and patronising, would not recommend. I have endometriosis and she didn't seem to have any idea what she was saying, honestly never felt so belittled by a doctor, this is a new diagnosis and she wouldn't explain anything to me.
