I'm the mother of the patient. I can find it quite hard to impart the history/background information in full and in an ordered manner, especially since the process leading up to our visit had broken down in the months beforehand with the A&E referral letter going missing. Clare listened to me patiently & asked salient questions such that I felt she fully understood how and why we'd arrived up in front of her. Clare put my mind completely at rest after an unfortunate episode where the words 'brain tumour' had been dropped without warning into a phone call by another doctor last year which left me without sleep for two weeks until that had been ruled out by a blood test. Clare arranged for a blood test and ultrasound onsite on the visit and then dictated a referral letter in my presence so I felt very reassured that everything that could be done had been done and that we have been sent in the right direction, which matches the direction I'd always felt we needed to go in. Finally, Clare helpfully suggested a number of things we should/shouldn't do whilst we are waiting to see the dermatologist. I've been pretty desperate for advice for the last 6 months and we've been winging it alone with over the counter treatments/dressings which may well have exacerbated the condition. I was grateful for her suggestions. I felt very satisfied, reassured and listened to after seeing Clare today which is the ultimate outcome. Many thanks!
