I was referred to Miss McGuiness in March 2021 by Dr D P Chua following a consultation with him as part of extensive investigation into serious swelling in my legs. From the first time I met her I felt I could trust everything she told me to do and went along with her ideas. We started off by bandaging both of my legs to keep them compressed tightly and move the excessive Lymph Fluid around my body towards an exit point. She took over the liaison with my GP organising blood tests, or whatever was required. At this stage Royal Surrey County Hospital were investigating a possible case of Cancer, but after surgery to remove my ovaries I was signed off as all clear and I returned Catherine for further treatment, I was referred to a Lymphoedema Therapist who taught me how to massage myself, Catherine even went to the extreme by ordering me special shoes to wear whilst wearing the bandages and stockings. On Tuesday 7th December I was fitted with pressure stockings, which unfortunately due to a serious postal delay has resulted in no replacement stockings arriving for me to use, or replace. We have just reached a difficult situation with my treatment where we cannot go forward easily due to my lack of physical ability to use or fit my own pressure stockings or LymphPress M/c. I am currently in contact with Catherine to see if we can find the next step forward. She is an amazing Doctor who cares for her patients and treats them like friends.
