I have never forgotten about this doctor, I believe she's a massive reason why I am here today and have always wanted to thank her. She was a locum and diagnosed my pulmonary embolism, I briefly mentioned to her at my antenatal app that I had sharp pains and struggled for breath at night at times. She examined me, and said she would run some blood work just to be on the safe side. These blood tests, were followed by x ray, and then a MRI and confirmed I had a blood clot on my lungs. I was young only 19 at the time and I was 7months pregnant. I started blood thinning treatment and she made sure to tell me not to have a epidural she put this all over my notes and reiterated to me under no circumstances should I have a epidural due to the blood thinners I was on. It was unfortunate that she was away when I had delivered my baby (just turned 11yrs old!) but I had complications with the birth and subsequently had haemorraged, I made it through though thanks to the great team of doctors and once Dr McClaverty returned to work, She came to see me , meet my baby and just to check how I was doing. I ended up staying in the hospital two weeks post birth but made a full recovery. I never got to thank you, all these years I have never forgotten you , you found the reason why I was feeling so ill, you went that extra mile, I'm so grateful I always wonder if I would be here if I never got the p.e diagnosis and would it have been too late. You are a amazing doctor, thank you for saving my life.
