Ms Gkountelia conducted two surgical procedures, the first bilateral in Feb 2020 and the second (left eye only) in Jan 2022. This required pre-op and post-op appointments with monitoring appointments in between, all against the pandemic background. At every stage I found Ms Gkountelia to exude professionalism and kindness which are very reassuring qualities in any doctor but particularly when surgery is to be performed in the eye area.
Appointments never felt rushed, despite the undoubted pressures on those who work in the NHS.
My last appointment was on 21 June so I'm extremely late in providing these comments. Better late than never...
