I had my hernia operation 4 weeks ago having been in pain for around 8 weeks . I researched and came across Mr Kurzer as the most qualified surgeon to undertake my operation because it is his speciality . I also decided to contact him because he’s one of the few doctors who does hernia operations under local anaesthetic as I didn’t want to have general anaesthetic. I had an appointment with Mr Kurzer and he patiently explained in detail what the surgery entails including success rates and the rate of rejection of the mesh by the body . I became very comfortable with his explanations and agreed for the operation to take place. I felt no pain during the operation and did not stay overnight at the hospital either. I was discharged few hours after the operation and I managed to walk perfectly as the local anaesthetic had not worn off . He advised me to take paracetamol when in pain and that was sufficient for me . I was able to walk around the house the next day and he advised me to walk indoors for the first three days and not to go out for long walks within the first three days . What is remarkable is the fine cut that he made which has already faded in only 4 weeks and the time he found to check on me the evening after the operation and the following three days to ascertain if I was alright and not bleeding. I am very satisfied with the work Mr Kurzer did and he has proved he is definitely an excellent specialist in hernia repair and I will not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who wants to undertake a hernia operation. The nurses both at the theatre and at the ward were excellent and I was impressed with the care and service they provided as they made my stay comfortable and welcoming. The food was also brilliant. I will indeed recommend the hospital to potential patients.
