I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to Doctor Zaid Aldin for the outstanding care he provided me during my Prostate Embolization procedure. I was initially extremely nervous about the procedure, but Dr. Aldin took the time to explain everything in detail and answer all of my questions. He made me feel very comfortable and at ease. This did not stop me thinking how on earth this could be achieved with just a tiny tube inserted in the area above the wrist (in my case) The procedure itself took around 3 hours and was completed by Dr.Aldin himself with the assistance of his Registrar and members of the Radiology team. I tried to be as calm as possible and not to make any unnecessary movements . The reason it takes 3 hours in my view is the immense care Dr.Aldin takes to ensure that the procedure is successful, constantly reviewing and rechecking the imaging equipment and catheter position. Following the procedure I was taken to a recovery area and monitored for a short time. I was fully awake during the procedure and felt no pain. I was able to return home the same day. I experienced very little discomfort following the procedure. Probably the following 5-7 days there was a burning sensation when urinating but I personally did not notice any blood in my urine (may be too much information). The procedure took place approximately 6 months ago and I believe I have had improvements with flow/ starting and do not need to get up at night. I have not been taking Finasteride and Tamsulosin for over a year and feel so much better for it. I have been undergoing NHS care for over 15 years monitoring the Prostate for cancer and psa levels with the final diagnosis being my Prostate over 30% larger than normal. I have tried to give as much information as possible to maybe reassure any other patients who may be considering this procedure. I believe this treatment is a game changing non invasive alternative to TURP . Again my sincere thanks to Doctor Aldin and the fantastic team of professionals at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Dr Aldin did an Embolisation for me recently. His performance and dedication were excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending this Doctor. I would certainly use his services again if it were necessary

I recently underwent a Prostrate Embolization procedure. I didn't know what I was worried about. No pain - just a few needles. A resounding success. Many thanks to Dr Aldin and his team.

When Dr Aldin asked me to write a review on my Prostate Embolism I was more than happy to do so. I've always been scared of "going under the knife", so when Dr Aldin offered me this procedure I was more than happy to try it. I found it to be totally painless, except for a very tiny prick for the local Anaesthetic to numb the site of insertion. Other than that, I had trouble keeping awake is was so easy. At all times I was being talked to and made aware of what was happening. My biggest problem, keeping the catheter in for another couple of weeks until my prostate shrank enough. Now I feel like a new man with a nearly perfect flow rate. To Dr Aldin I give my thanks for his care and attention. Don't be afraid, its a perfect solution for those who like me hate surgery. I would recommend Dr Aldin to anyone with a prostate problem.

I was referred to Doctor Z Aldin in April 2022 for the Embolisation procedure, after talking to members of staff at Harlow Hospital and Dr Aldin I was given a full breakdown of procedure and all questions were answered, I felt very safe and confident in the procedure, I was sent for MRI an CT Scan the procedure was very professional and I must say the staff at Harlow Hospital were outstanding, On the day of procedure I was prepared for procedure which I must say was nothing like I expected, just a hospital gown and a catheter in my hand and that was it. I was taken to an x ray area and i was asked to lay on the x ray bed, everything was straight forward as I had been informed, the x ray table was set up to allow Dr Aldin to perform the procedure. I felt next to nothing , the only thing I felt was a minor sting in my arm from the insertion of a small tube , after that it was just watching the x ray screen and Dr Aldin with his staff complete the procedure, when complete the staff returned me to the Radiology area to rest and have my dressing checked to make sure ok to go home, I went home the same day as procedure, I had no problems or bleeding, took a couple of pain killers first couple of days only from slight discomfort but nothing to think about. my procedure lasted about two and a half to three hours. I would like to Thank Dr Aldin and all his staff for there exceptional care and outstanding professionalism , People complain about the NHS but I do not think you could have received better care in any other Hospital anywhere. I thank you all. I am after only 4 months and recent tests confirmed my Prostrate had reduced by 40% I do not have any of the previous problems known with prostrate i can even walk past a toilet without going in just in case. Those suffering with prostrate will know what I mean. I can now sleep all night with only getting up a max of once sometimes. Life is much better .
