My mum fell down on Thursday morning. I called the paramedics who blue lighted us to MK ED. I was so scared for her. When we arrived about 12 people were waiting around a bed for her arrival and then I saw Dr.Behnam and was so relieved as mum had seen him before through appointments after a TIA. Him and his team were absolutely fantastic. He was supportive of them but also keen on the need for speed. After 2 urgent CT scans he identified a massive stroke and a blood clot on the brain. He said he would contact john Radcliffe for a procedure to remove the clot. Within minutes we were blue lighted to JR...again..met on arrival straight away and she went straight in for this miraculous procedure. Mum could not move, focus, speak, stay awake....we thought it was her day :( As she has COPD they explained they would have to do it without anaesthetic but they still took the chance on her. 35 mins later I was told she was out. Such a relief and the procedure went well. After a day in JR and seeing her so poorly we waited for her transfer back to MK today and when we saw her and she said 'hiya' they were the best words we have ever heard. A total opposite to 24 hours before. They all literally saved her life from MK ED and Dr Behnam sending her with speed to JR and the geniuses at JR. So so grateful
