Dr. Porcari is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She qualified in Medicine in Italy in 2000. She went on to specialise in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry which she completed in 2005. She did a year of research fellowship in the psychological effects of trauma at the Trauma Centre, part of Boston University, together with the team of Prof. Bessel van der Kolk and then took a permanent NHS Consultant post in South Essex where she has been working since early 2006. Since 2008 till present Dr. Porcari has also become the Clinical Director for the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services across South Essex, Luton and Bedfordshire alongside practising as a CAMHS Consultant in Basildon, Essex.  All together Dr. Porcari has more than 15 years work experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, winning 4 points of NHS Clinical Excellence Awards throughout her career as an NHS Consultant. Dr. Porcari is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Health and Social Care at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford and Visiting Professor in Psychiatry for Pavia University, Italy.
