Knowledgeable, a true professional , Dr Bala has undeniably saved my fathers life , Her knowledge is unmatched in this field. She takes ownership , and she is organised and thorough with appointments and follow up care. I cannot stress enough how amazing this lady is. I will always be eternally grateful. My father has terminal cancer , but because of Dr Balas knowledge and experience, her treatment plan has given us more time. Maybe her bedside manner is too professional for some people ? But her wealth of knowledge certainly outweighs that ! If you are a patient of hers , think yourself very lucky ,, you have the best !!!

Sad to say but this lady is the most uncompassionate doctor I have ever met. She talks at rather than with her patients and excludes carers from conversations by sitting them away from the patient. Her staff are afraid of her. In short she is a bully who does Harrogate hospital a great disservice despite her technical competency.

I am writing this review 3.5 years after seeing this doctor following investigations and a diagnosis of multiple myeloma. She had zero bedside manner, zero compassion, zero communication skills with either me as the patient or my wife. She was technically very good at the bone marrow sampling which can be difficult. She was angry when I requested transfer to the local specialist unit in Leeds. The care and compassion in Leeds has been first class. Don't be afraid of this bully. If you get on with her great, but it is your right to ask to be transferred to another consultant Ps I am a retired doctor.
