Dr Munshi is a very engaging practitioner who communicated a great deal of empathy for my father's condition. He is able to quickly arrive at just the right technical level to explain complex clinical terms in ways I could quickly understand. He immediately saw the need to reach out to other parts of the service and is doing what he can to get primary care to engage with my father's condition (diabetes) properly so that he does not suffer another stroke. The interventions and follow ups with Dr Munshi have been peerless and I could not have wished for a better consultant to look after my father during his ill health. I wish there was an easier way to get my father's GP to engage with secondary care in a more efficient way. I had to act as the go between to seek further advice, but I understand the process constraints Dr Munshi works under. As it was, he has always responded extraordinarily quickly and offered salient advice as best as the primary/secondary interface would seem to allow. Dr Munshi is very much aware of the limitations at the primary care level and is very clearly driven to support the patients under his care to full recovery, even after discharge from his unit. The Acute Stroke team at NUH is a superb service and within it, Dr Munshi is a huge asset to the Trust.
