Although I was correctly diagnosed, I felt at times that at times she blamed my symptoms on a difficult childhood, unfortunately my depression worsened and was left medically untreated. I was referred to a friend therapist who was very unhelpful as an input, again the focus on childhood stuff rather than symptoms. I made a serious attempts on my life numerous times, it was really distressing. On a positive I now have a NHS consultant following hospital admission. She takes me seriously and has started me on lithium and I feel well an able to work again!!!
