Dr. DeSilva made me feel comfortable and at ease with her calm and friendly manner. She is approachable, kind and caring. She listens carefully to questions and concerns, takes the time to talk through the various treatment options, explaining the risks and benefits to help me make an informed decision. She has great knowledge and expertise in her field, and is up to date with the latest research/ clinical trials and new treatments available. She always made my accompanying daughter feel very welcome and involved. At times, during my treatment for breast cancer, when I wished to follow a slightly different path, she acknowledged and respected this and was very understanding. She supported me in the choices I was making, after I explained my physical and mental needs. When I told her I wanted to attend a family wedding abroad, she scheduled my treatment plan so that I could attend the wedding, which was a great boost to my wellbeing. I am immensely grateful for her supportive role during my radiotherapy treatment, and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for healing me. I feel safe, reassured and confident in her care, and highly recommend her. Thank you, Dr. DeSilva for holding my hand through this scary journey.
