He does not believe in Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I was discussing this and he shouted at me down the phone. Fast forward to 2 months later and I was diagnosed with it. He only believes in fibromyalgia and that is it because he has written papers on it.

Decided that I couldn’t have a connective tissue disorder because I have mental health problems. Very dismissive. I should have done my research and chose another doctor.

Dr Selwyn Richards I find to be a very kind calm and empathic man he listens and explains what is going on making one feel much more at ease and understand the situation. I would recommend him to other patients. I have learnt more about my condition than I knew before he saw me Thank You

Saw Dr Richards for a consultation today, following my decision to 'decline' having surgery on my fractured wrist. Really felt that he understood my thoughts and why i had made my decision. He really did treat me 'as an individual'; whilst he must have seen countless similar injuries! I'm totally happy with my treatment, and would recommend his listening, understanding approach to other patients. Mrs Wendy Doody

Dr Richards seems to have poor listening skills in that he talked about an entirely different joint difficulty to the one I was experiencing. He became cross when I attempted to direct him on track again.
