I have recently had 2 appointments - the 2nd being her requested follow-up to the first. We had not met previously. At the first, she was faced with my very complicated history and she told me she had spent 15 minutes reading notes before calling me in! This thoroughness pervaded the whole appointment (which lasted a further 30 minutes) and her care and professionalism were supreme. Most significantly she listened to and respected everything I said. She referred me for blood tests and X-Ray, and asked me to see her for results in 10 days time. At the 2nd appointment I had meanwhile been called in to the practice in connection with my X-Ray report and saw a trainee. When I saw Dr Mackay for the 2nd appointment we had lengthy a discussion concerning the bloods and X-Ray and although she felt the report did not raise concerns, she respected the fact that because of my complex symptoms I would like a specialist's opinion on the X-Ray, and she was happy to refer me. She is a fine and caring doctor, who I would not hesitate to recommend.
