I had been suffering for years with bladder problems. I was diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis plus a small overactive bladder with a capacity of just 150ml plus inflammation and constant pain. My life was controlled by my bladder. After many hospital appointments and trying different treatments. I had finally agreed to an operation, where they would either enlarge or remove my bladder to try to improve my quality of life. This was a major operation. I decided to make an appointment with my GP Dr Sarah Leaver to get one last opinion. She listened to what I had to say, advised me that she thought I needed the operation but suggested that I try Amitriptyline. I attended another hospital appointment a few days later and agreed to the operation. Within a couple of weeks on Amatriptyline my bladder problems became so much better, no pain, no rushing to the loo every hour or two day and night. It was like a miracle cure and I just can't thank Dr Lever enough. When I saw the surgeon three months later he was pleased to hear how much better I was feeling. My operation is now on hold. I'm now leading a very full life again. I really can't thank Dr Lever enough.
