The Doctor was friendly and professional and I have no problem with the level of care I received.
However I do believe there is a tendency among G Ps in general to over medicate and when it was suggested I should take statins for what would be the rest of my life, I said I wanted time to think about it.Two years ago my cholesterol was 4.2 and I believe a diet can bring me back to that level.
I was also told I have an issue with alcohol. Again I disagreed as I only drink socially three nights a week (24 units) . I think this also is a trend perhaps encouraged by the government to blame patients for their condition. I do not smoke and I am very fit.
These are minor quibbles I think G Ps do a great job under difficult circumstances, we shook hands and parted on good terms. I have confidence in Dr Duhan and believe he has my best interests at heart.
