I was referred to Dr Howlett back in February due to multiple issues, I was given an appointment for a 24hr ECG and an Echocardiogram at the end of March. Had my ECG done and turned up 2 weeks later for my Echo only to be told it had been cancelled and no one had bothered to tell me. I then got a letter from Dr Howlett stating he didn’t want to see me because of Covid (no offer of a phone consultation or anything). After a letter of complaint I eventually got a half hearted apology in May and was told “your ECG showed nothing significant”. Heard nothing else but kept receiving letters for appointments with Dr Howlett over the summer. And then in August completely out of the blue, I received a letter from him telling me my ECG (from March) showed significant tachycardia and he was recommending I was put on tablets to help with regular follow ups. Dr Howlett knew there was something wrong for 5 months and yet did absolutely nothing to help me. I was left facing debilitating symptoms day in day out, all whilst being made to believe it was in my head thanks to his refusal to see or even speak to me. Despite several complaints, the hospital keep booking me in to see Dr Howlett but I have zero trust in him anymore. How can a Dr who specialises in the most important organ let his patients suffer without even trying to find out what is wrong?
