Dr Howlett immediately put me at ease and dignity was maintained throughout which was a relief. Good explanations and tests/results explained clearly and not rushed through. I thoroughly recommend this doctor.

I thought all doctor do this as a passion . how right was I . He needs to be sacked there's no nice way of saying this other than retirement he needs to go please NHS look into getting rid of this poor service by the Dr.

I was referred to Dr Howlett back in February due to multiple issues, I was given an appointment for a 24hr ECG and an Echocardiogram at the end of March. Had my ECG done and turned up 2 weeks later for my Echo only to be told it had been cancelled and no one had bothered to tell me. I then got a letter from Dr Howlett stating he didn’t want to see me because of Covid (no offer of a phone consultation or anything). After a letter of complaint I eventually got a half hearted apology in May and was told “your ECG showed nothing significant”. Heard nothing else but kept receiving letters for appointments with Dr Howlett over the summer. And then in August completely out of the blue, I received a letter from him telling me my ECG (from March) showed significant tachycardia and he was recommending I was put on tablets to help with regular follow ups. Dr Howlett knew there was something wrong for 5 months and yet did absolutely nothing to help me. I was left facing debilitating symptoms day in day out, all whilst being made to believe it was in my head thanks to his refusal to see or even speak to me. Despite several complaints, the hospital keep booking me in to see Dr Howlett but I have zero trust in him anymore. How can a Dr who specialises in the most important organ let his patients suffer without even trying to find out what is wrong?

Dr Howlett has missed not one but 3 consultations with me. Two years ago I was referred to this doctor he discharged me without even discussing my results with me. Now I have had multiple episodes that has ended up with me attending hospital. I fear he is going to try and discharge me again. He is an embarrassment to cardiology

I can only hope this Dr think he has been doing this two long and gives up and if he spent as long as if takes him to write two letters to do the scan he had been asked for patient would get a much better service from Saffron Walden hospital if not there is little or no reason to keep it open and save NHS money.
