Dr Vidya's confident examination of my breast and her description of my condition helped to allay the concerns that I was feeling from my diagnosis. Dr Vidya recommended that the breast lump be removed completely for a more in depth biopsy. Following the recommendation I was able to ask questions and was involved in the final decision to accept the surgery, rather than feeling that it was something that was "done to me " without consultation. Dr Vidya saw me pre operatively allowing me to ask any questions that I may have and to advise me on the process from surgery to my out patient appointment. All questions were answered fully and no questions seemed too trivial for her. It is clear that as a woman in her field she prioritises how important the breast is to women and she is conscious to ensure that the post operative appearance of the affected breast is preserved or cosmetically pleasing, which is so important.
