After a routine mammogram I was called back for further investigation. The results showed that I had I had grade lll breast cancer and was HER2 positive. I was naturally devastated but Miss Vidya explained clearly and simply to me that although it was a cancer that was ‘a little bit naughty’, it could be successfully treated. Miss Vidya and her team have shown total compassion and professionalism throughout my treatment. The process was explained clearly with plenty of written information provided to read and reflect on at home. After a successful course of chemotherapy I had surgery to remove the remaining tumour and lymph nodes for testing. I received the results from Miss Vidya and breast care nurse Sara Longman. The news that my cancer had gone, was delivered with again with compassion. It was an exciting moment. I feel privileged to have received such special care from this wonderful team. They have given me strength and support throughout my journey. I still have a little way to go with radiotherapy in the new year and further medication to prevent the cancer returning. I have had total trust and faith with this wonderful, compassionate team. I thank them all.
