I was very relieved to be given an appointment within a few days of contacting Dr Patel's office. I was reassured to sense that he was not at all puzzled by my symptoms in fact I think he mentioned the possibility of microscopic colitis at this first consultation, I liked his non-patronising, egalitarian manner and the fact that he did not query the presence of my granddaughter with me. I was glad that he performed both the gastroscopy and colonoscopy personally as I knew that he must be very experienced. His skill was such that I felt only slight discomfort and I was glad to have both procedures over in one day. I appreciated the fact that he came to tell me in the recovery room that he detected no internal bleeding nor cancer. The budesonide which he prescribed after examining the biopsies (only about ten days after the procedures) stopped the diarrhoea , which I had had for about a month, more or less immediately. I was at last able to eat normally. I appreciate the promptness with which I receive a copy of Dr Patel's letter to my GP after a consultation I wish I had consulted him earlier,
