On walking into the The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases you get the feeling that it is well organised and the administration staff are efficient and welcoming. Dr Philip Hammond put my 8 year old daughter at ease immediately by stopping to introduce himself when walking past on route to his office rather than making us wait until our appointment started. Dr Hammonds has a natural ability to communicate an illness to a child in a positive way which resulted in my daughter being fully engaged in what was being discussed and she therefore took onboard details of her programme which is a important first step to recovery. Dr Hammond simple diagrams and explanations helped to acquire a general understanding of CFS and we left the appointment feeling better educated and in the right frame of mind to accept the diagnosis and how move forward. Dr Hammond is funny and polite and is good example of what you hope a Doctor to be so thank you Dr Hammond.
