I saw Dr Peter Haynes, Consultant Rheumatologist , on 9/03/2018 while he was working as a locum at Rochdale Infirmary, Lancashire. WOW! This doctor is definitely a one-off & I can't praise him highly enough. My visit was one of my six-monthly appointments & I was expecting to receive a brief chat & my annual steroid injection. NO CHANCE! After listening to me answer his questions & an examination of my poor, arthritic feet, leg joints & back, , he declared emphatically that he would not give me a steroid injection as he strongly believed it would do me more harm than good. He also stated that i was opiate (Tramadol) dependent & insisted that I stop my daily 300mg dose of time release Tramadol capsules in favour of a withdrawal programme. All this was followed by manipulation treatment to my dysfunctional spine & surrounding tissue massage. Diet advice followed & I have put into practice all his recommendations. WE NEED MORE DOCTORS LIKE THIS! He is very straight-talking but cares about his patients & goes the extra mile in his work. I constantly research health improvement & my own health problems, & the information & advice I was given by this amazing doctor is all spot on according to what I have learned. By the way, TIME WAS NOT OF THE ESSENCE & he spent an hour with me. If you do read this review, Dr Peter Haynes, then a BIG THANK YOU from me! ;)
