Dr Dempsey has always explained problems at a level I can understand, answers questions with diagrammes if required, it becomes a 2 way conversation. On ocassions I can loose a question, fact, symptom, if I do not write it down before on a pad, maybe a prompt on the on the apointment/reminder letter would help. He has also sumerised all my treatments, even from other departments, compacting, clarifying, generally making it patient friendly. Information removes/reduces fears and increases confidence, enpowering and including the patient. Needs to pass on the ability to comunicate and include the patient, to other staff members. Would make hospital visits more inclusive and effective, not a dictatorship. I do want to be involved and not told to do it because the doctor knows best. Dr Dempsey is an example of how to get his expertise across, in a way that gives confidence to the patient.
