I was really quite surprised - but grateful - to have a way of contacting Dr Oikonomidou directly. It was so re-assuring to know I could e-mail her or phone her if I needed to.
She obviously listened to what I told her about me, as another doctor referenced something I’d told her about my son being about to sit his Highers when I was about to start my treatment.
She looked for the best way to organise my treatment. When part of it wasn’t covered by my health insurance, she moved that element of my treatment smoothly back into her NHS clinic.
At such a traumatic time in my life, she has been a calm & re-assuring presence. But I also know that she has been honest with me throughout my treatment.
