Seeing Dr Gall has been life changing. My condition isn't life threatening (PoTS/Dysautonomia, MCAS and hEDS) but it is extremely debilitating and not all cardiologists take it seriously. Whilst my case doesn't have a simple cure, having a doctor who seems to genuinely care about patients, taking a holistic approach to health makes living with it a little easier. He has always treated me with dignity, understanding and empathy. He has validated my experiences, reassuring me that my symptoms are real and that the many wider symptoms which other doctors had written off as anxiety (or simply not believed), are real and part of a bigger picture. He takes time with his patients, listens to concerns and answers questions thoroughly. He is always up to date with current research, treatments and management strategies which is very reassuring. His clear passion in wanting to understand the mystery of POTS/dysautonomia and his willingness to work collaboratively with his patients is, in my opinion, his greatest strength and sets him apart from the many other consultants I have seen throughout the last 20+ years. He is always realistic about expected outcomes from treatments, and when suggesting a treatment plan trusts me as the patient to be actively involved and find the safest and most successful dosage and combination of medications (with clear guidance whenever needed). He has a network of other Doctors with similar values and attitudes towards "POTS-y people", and will make direct referrals to these if needed, and only if needed, as he doesn't believe in causing distress with unpleasant tests when the clinical evidence is clear. I feel extremely lucky to be under Dr Gall's care. I only wish I had been able to see him 10 years earlier! I hope that he gets the support and funding necessary to be able to share his research and knowledge to train other specialists for the future. Thank you for believing in us Dr Gall.
