Written by a carer at Kettering General Hospital
18th August 2017

I attended Kettering General Hospital on 17th August with my 83 year old mother. We met with Dr Mohsin Farooq who was following through issues raised about my mother's heart condition and GA risks etc. In spite of my my mother's poor condition in truth, Dr Farooq was kindness itself and took time to be considerate with explaining the why's and wherefore's and still gave an offer to assess further, no guarantees of course, but so often our elderly poorly generation can feel sidelined. Dr Farooq had the bedside manner that can reassure a stressful situation. So thank you for that. It's not always what is said, when complex issues are discussed, but 'how' it is delivered. We felt relevant. I work in the West Sussex Foundation Trust myself and aware of the difficulties exposed of late within KGH, so my intention here is to share our experience received yesterday. EDB
