Dr Scales is clearly a very able man. Why would he otherwise be teaching trainee doctors? I have always found him to be polite, courteous and totally professional. Granted, it's no use going to see him with a cold, as he doesn't give out antibiotics like Smarties, which some ignorant people might wish, but he carefully assesses a patent's needs and offers sound advice and care. There are some pretty thick people in Batley, one only needs to attend the surgery to see that, but for those who actually need a doctor, rather than those who don't, Dr Scales is a first-rate doctor.
