Dr Mark Slaney is retiring in Dec-22, so this is not much help for people who are seeking his help now. However, in terms of feedback, I had two sessions with Dr Slaney. The first was an extremely thorough review of me, my life, my family, my history, my thoughts and feelings, and a whole lot more. He spent a good 1.35-hour Skype with me and literally no stone was left unturned. By the end, I felt he knew more about my life than I did, or at least that I could recall. On the second session we focused more on a review of medication, and in particular whether this was necessary or unnecessary. In my view Dr Slaney is a highly experienced psychiatrist with over 45 years of medical experience. He has a vast knowledge of traditional GP and hospital practice, in addition to an extensive knowledge of psychiatric matters and related medication. On a personal basis, I enjoyed meeting with him very much and found him to be a very jovial and affable character. Dr Slaney is extremely professional but always with a gentle sense of humor. I wish him well in his retirement and I consider myself fortunate to have benefitted from his consultations before the end of his admirable career.
