Share review of Dr Leon Rozewicz
What a shame! I went to Dr Rozewicz for an opinion and in the hope that he would be able to take over my care.
I've found a particular treatment really helpful for bipolar, that has long established recognition on both sides of the Altantic and is in the Maudsley guidelines.
I reached out before my appointment to Dr Rozewicz's assistant to make sure that he would be comfortable with this as I didn't want to waste anyone’s time. The reply I had said he would be happy to see me about this.
My interrogation with him lasted 50 minutes. He appeared irritable that I had come to ask about this treatment, refused to acknowledge its efficacy in my case, and by the end I was left feeling more hopeless than when I went in.
This kind of narrow minded and one-size-fits-all approach to patient care gives psychiatry a bad name. Perhaps he was having a bad day? I recognise others have found him to be of help, but I would personally avoid the Priory Group if this is what they consider clinical excellence.
There are plenty of other psychiatrists out there with a compassionate, patient-centred approach, who listen to what has actually helped instead of blindly asserting their preconceptions.
