I was admitted to Queen Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition following a massive heart attack in August 2019. I arrived by Coast Guard Helicopter in the early hours of the morning as I live on the Isle of Wight. Although I don't remember the first few hours, I was very lucky to be appointed Dr Guha as my Consultant. From there on in, my life was in his hands together with the amazing team in Critical Care. The decisions that he made on my behalf were critical to my survival, his knowledge, care and compassion was something that I have never experienced before. His care and compassion was also extended to my husband who was with me all the time and for this we are eternally grateful. For a week Dr Guha would do his morning rounds and took the time to listen to both of our concerns and was very reassuring, although I was so terribly ill. Once I was well enough to have an angiogram, it became apparent that I needed immediate surgery and was rushed to Southampton General where triple heart bypass surgery was carried out the next morning. Today, I am 7 months on from the surgery and have a new lease of life. Without a shadow of a doubt, if I had not been lucky enough to have Dr Guha as my Consultant, I do not believe I would have survived. I owe my life to Dr Guha and his amazing team at Queen Alexandra Hospital. Thank you so very much Dr Guha. From Julie and Paul
