I would like to begin by saying that I feel incredibly lucky to be signed up with Killick Street health centre. They are quick at responding to appointment & prescription requests and most of the staff there are trustworthy, knowledgeable and caring. However, Dr. Karen Sennet, who is a GP there - though she is not listed on their website - is the absolute antithesis of this. She was my appointed GP for many years and I thought I just had a cultural disconnect with her as I am not British. I had some trouble with my mental health a few years ago and asked for a referral from her. Nothing ever came of it and when I went back to her a year later with similar issues, she brushed it off and said "haven't we already discussed this?" Only to find that nothing had been done on the issue. Nothing ever did come of those conversations with Dr. Sennet. Not a call, not a recommendation, nothing. I stayed with her still thinking that perhaps we had a cultural or personality mismatch. However, a few days after my first child was born, I got a fever and chills and made an emergency appointment with her. She prescribed an antibiotic for mastitis and told me to "run" to the chemist before it closed - I could hardly walk at that point. Luckily, when I got to the chemist I decided to take myself to the hospital. It turned out I had an infection in my womb which turned into sepsis. I'm not sure I would have made it through the night. The point being, being a GP she should have recognised that I needed to go to the hospital straight away. When I confronted her about it months later, she said she was "sorry I felt that way." I had another gruff, uncaring conversation with her today. No need to go into the details but it would have been quite easy for her to say the same exact things without the tone of condescension that she seems to regale upon me with each and every visit and phonecall. Every single interaction I have ever had had with Dr. Karen Sennet at Killick Street has left me feeling uncared for. Her carelessness could have been fatal in the past. She is a terrible reflection on the rest of the team at Killick street. I wonder why she is still there. Stay away from Dr Sennet.

Dr Sennett was briefly my GP in 2020 I urgently had to change GP for the following reasons: - Shortly after joining the surgery Dr Sennett phoned me in an hysterical manner informing that she was no longer prepared to issue my long term medication as 'it costs the NHS money' and that 'american drug companies are robbing the NHS'. - She tried to switch out my antidepressant for a different medication which she stated was cheaper and was an identical generic. I was aware that this was not the case, it was a different drug, but she was screaming and yelling down the phone at me in a completely unacceptable way. This was only resolved when other members of staff at the surgery and their prescribing pharmacist intervened. - Following this, every month, Dr Sennett repeatedly assured that she had sent my prescription to the pharmacy as we had agreed but the Pharmacist kept telling me she hadn't. The Pharmacist refused point blank to speak with Dr Sennett and vice versa, creating a bizarre stand off situation where I was in the middle and neither of them were prepared to speak to one another and both of them conflicted. - The above severely threatened my mental health and left me suicidal and self harming. I already have a long history of problems and I was very clear to Dr Sennett and the surgery that her bizarre behaviour was risking my life. - The interactions with Dr Sennett literally traumatised me in their own right and triggered my personal trauma which is severe and I have PTSD from. - All of this took place at the beginning of lockdowns and covid unfolding when times were already stressful. - Dr Sennett refused to make me referrals and refused to give me continuity for investigations and hospital teams I was already under, again compromising my health. - None of my health problems were taken seriously, I was messed around and made to look like a dishonest drug seeker to my pharmacy, I was yelled at, spoken over the top of, not listened to, fobbed off, and had to deal with what quite frankly seem to be someone's very serious personality issues or mental health problems when they are supposed to be my GP. I am glad to have changed surgery now. I am writing this review even though time has gone past because I want to know anyone else who is suffering these problems with either Dr Sennett or at that surgery, it's NOT YOUR FAULT, you have done nothing wrong. Nobody but nobody should be subjected to this treatment. Lease of all anyone vulnerable or struggling with their health. It is wholly unacceptable.

Dr Karen Sennett has been my GP for a few years and on the occasions that i do need to see her she is has been pretty insensitive, patronising and just does not listen, she constantly talks over you so you never really get to explain yourself and she rushes you out the door or off the phone. I have always found it hard to take her word for things because how can someone know what you're going through if they don't listen and talk over you? I understand she has a lot of patents and a busy schedule but this is her job, is it really too much to ask for someone to actually listen? without interrupting? *Stop interrupting people. *Show some compassion. *Listen.

The visit to this doctor was easily the worst hospital experience I have ever had. She was extremely rude, patronising and unprofessional. She: -kept interrupting me and wouldn't let me finish telling her my medical history, arguing with me about what doctor I have seen and when -completely refused to address the issue I was having with my fitted coil -spoke in a patronising manner -scolded me for visiting the emergency room when I was in extreme pain -claimed that doctors in a different hospital were didn't know how to treat me because they were "casualty doctors and not GPs" Her recommendation at the end was: keep taking painkillers and come for check-ups every two months. She also refused to refer me to a different doctor, saying that she would only do so if the pain continues in two months, while I have already been experiencing it for 8 and it only got worse.
