I don't understand the other reviews on this site about this GP. He is a mixed bag. Technically he is competent and reasonably through on a medical level. I have been with the practice for a number of years and have seen him on many occasions though rarely by choice. Each time he has been arrogant, rude, cold, superior and dismissive. He behaves better when I bring my spouse with me but only marginally. A GP is an essential part of the community often caring for several generations of the same family over many years. They build up a long term relationship with the families they look after based on care and concern and a holistic understanding. He utterly fails as a GP in my opinion because he refuses to build those bridges. He really does not seem to care about you as a person and your feelings. He is not a warm and sympathetic person. He rarely looks at you directly and behaves as if you are an idiot and beneath him. He is only interested in the technical aspects of your condition and not at all about the impacts on you. He gives you the barest of information and minimal interpretation or advice. Having a proper discussion with him is impossible as he is so dismissive you are glad to get out of the room. I am writing this because my last consultation with him was so distressing and humiliating. I have never complained to the practice about him because I don't feel he would take it seriously or change his bad behaviour and it would harm my relationship with the practice. This is the only outlet I have to express my views.

A great GP at a great practice. As always, he showed genuine concern and compassion, and well as skilled medical knowledge. This is a doctor who gives his patients his very best.

As I said before Dr Lewis persevered with my symptons which initially started in July, and was firstly diagnosed by a different doctor as probable diverticulitis. After seeing Dr Lewis, as my symptons didnt get any better, he sent me for scans and blood tests and then finally the gynaecologist I saw has found a small cyst on one ovary. I am now waiting for a laparscopy and if the cyst is found to be cancerous I have Dr Lewis to thank, for hopefully, finding it early.
