I had reason to see Dr Rosengarten as I needed a second opinion regarding a diagnosis and prescribed medication to do with occasional palpitations. I found Dr Rosengarten to be highly approchable, having a warm and engaging manner which made me feel at ease. I had been worried that my concerns might be dismissed, but was quickly reassured that I would be listened to, without prejudice. It was good that we chatted for a while before any examination, too, which did make it more relaxed. Dr Rosengarten listened to my concerns over a prior diagnosis, and was far from dismissive. He had been able to access records of recent tests, so it felt that there was a comprehensive view of my current concerns. Fortunately, this private appointment gave sufficient time to be able to talk through my concerns without my feeling rushed and wasting his time. This was important because, in the past, when I challenged the value of taking medication due to detrimental side affects, I felt ignored and powerless. Dr Rosengarten inspired confidence, obviously in his field of expertise, but also in his assessment of practical ways to help me in determining the cause of my episodes, and any next steps. Without question, I felt that my concerns had been listened to and understood. Because we had time to have a proper discussion, it felt finally that I could be viewed as an individual exhibiting certain health issues, which may manifest itself quite differently from another. I was also given an excellent explanation of risk regarding the taking, or not, of some medications, with an acceptance of patients being able to choose. I also left feeling that I had a much clearer idea of how I can now go forward in terms of any similar episodes in the future. I totally trusted his viewpoint and am very grateful for all the help and advice given. All the support and reassurance has been very welcome. I felt considerably better afterwards.
