I moved from North London a few years ago to the Twickenham area and joined The Green Practice which is the sister surgery to the Fir Road surgery, so when I moved to the Hampton area i was near Fir Road and their was no messing about other than just changing our address. I have found them to be very hands on and pro-active rather than reactive.
Also having many doctors at the surgery you can seem to get an appointment quite quickly, having heard stories in the news about some people not being able to get an appointment with their GP's (whether this is media scaremongering ,I don't know). All I can say is I'm very happy with this and the sister Surgery.
