My husband waited for a colonoscopy for 4.5 months instead of 4-5 weeks. We finally got the appointment with Dr Bollas. Following the Colonoscopy, Dr Bollas sat with my husband and I to go through the results. We were informed that he had a mass on the colon and three polyps, all of which were benign. He sent us away without any worries and he would arrange for my husband to have a CT scan. Nothing arrived. For the following two weeks, my husband was severely in pain and I had no option but to take him to A&E at the William Harvey. After a 10 hour wait and a CT scan during the night, we were informed that my darling husband had cancer of the colon and that it had spread into the liver. Two weeks later my husband passed away. If Dr Bollas had given us the correct results at the time of the Colonoscopy, action would have been taken and my husband would have still been with me.
