I had been wanting to do something about the varicose veins on my right leg for some time but as my leg wasn't painful, I just didn't like the appearance of it, I felt it was extravagant to spend the money. However I received a flyer through my door for The Vein Clinic and discovered there was an open event at The Harbour Hospital in Poole which my husband and I attended. That was when I first met Mr Gajraj and I liked him straight away. He has a very relaxed manner and puts you at ease straight away. His presentation was very informative and the accompanying literature very comprehensive. Listening to Mr Gajraj and seeing the successful case histories made me decide to book a consultation which I was also able to have at The Harbour Hospital. Mr Gajraj recommended I have VNUS Closure and Micro-Phlebectomy. He explained that he prefers to carry out the treatment at The Melbury Clinic as he can control the costs there. I would have preferred it to have been closer to home but understood his reasons. The Melbury Clinic has a nice relaxed feel to it and is located in lovely countryside. On the day of my treatment Mr Gajraj explained the procedure and exactly what was going to happen. I didn't feel nervous in the treatment room at all. Mr Gajraj explained what he was doing at every step and the two nurses, Pam and Gaynor, were lovely and chatted to me all the way through the treatment. At home afterwards my leg felt comfortable and I didn't need any pain relief. After the bandages and surgical stocking were removed I wore the compression hosiery for 4 weeks which was during the July heatwave which was hard going but worth it. They are actually quite nice to wear and I will probably wear them in the winter anyway. I used arnica cream on the bruising as recommended by Ros English, the Clinic Manager, and this definitely helped. I have just had my 6 week check up and Mr Gajraj said the results are excellent. I am so glad I decided to have the treatment and it is money well spent. I would definitely recommend Mr Gajraj and The Melbury Clinic to anyone.
